Domain lock (transfer lock)
How to lock a domain to prevent unauthorized transfers.
Transfer lock (a.k.a. clientTransferProhibited) prevents a domain from being transferred away without unlocking it first.
- Portal → Domains → select domain → Settings.
- Toggle Domain Lock to ON.
- Confirm — the change is applied at the registry immediately.
tip
We recommend keeping every non-active domain locked. Only unlock when you are initiating a transfer within 24 hours.
