Privacy Policy.

How we collect, use, share, and safeguard your information — including SMS and text-messaging practices.

Last updated: November 4, 2026

KeetonHosting (“we,” “us,” or “our”) values the privacy and security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit keetonhosting.com (the “Site”) and use our hosting, domain, email, VPS, dedicated server, and SSL services (the “Services”). By using the Site or Services, you agree to the terms outlined in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information we collect

We collect several categories of information in connection with the Services we provide:

A. Personal Information

  • Identification information: name, email address, phone number, mobile number, company name, and mailing address.
  • Payment information: billing name, billing address, and payment card details. Card data is processed by our upstream reseller and payment processors; we do not store full card numbers on our servers.
  • Account information: username, password (stored as a salted hash), and other credentials required to access your account.

B. Usage Data

  • Log data such as IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, and timestamps.
  • Service telemetry required to operate, secure, monitor, and improve the Services (e.g., request rates, error rates, abuse signals).

C. Cookies and tracking technologies

We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, measure site performance, and prevent fraud. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect Site functionality.

2. How we use your information

  • To provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Services.
  • To create and manage your account and provision the products you order.
  • To process payments and fulfill transactions through our upstream reseller and payment processors.
  • To communicate with you regarding your account, renewals, security notices, service-related updates, and support requests.
  • To send marketing communications (with your consent where required), including promotions, newsletters, and offers.
  • To detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our Acceptable Use Policy.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

3. SMS / text-messaging communications

KeetonHosting may send SMS/text messages to phone numbers you provide, for account, transactional, and (with separate consent) promotional purposes. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies based on your account activity and preferences.

A. Opting in

You may opt in to receive SMS communications from KeetonHosting in one of the following ways:

  • Written / expressed consent: checking an opt-in box or signing a form that discloses the SMS program, message frequency, and applicable rates.
  • Implied opt-in: initiating a conversation by texting a KeetonHosting keyword or short code from your mobile device.
  • Verbal opt-in: agreeing over the phone. A double opt-in is required in this case — you will receive a follow-up confirmation message before further messages are sent.

By opting in, you consent to receive SMS messages related to your account, service updates, security alerts, appointment or provisioning reminders, and — where you have separately consented — marketing communications. Consent to receive marketing SMS messages is not a condition of purchasing any product or service.

B. Mobile information sharing

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing with subcontractors that support our SMS program (such as messaging platforms and carriers) is limited to what is necessary to deliver messages you have requested, and those subcontractors are prohibited from using the information for their own marketing.

C. Help and support

  • Text HELP to any KeetonHosting message to receive assistance.
  • You can also call us at (480) 624-2500 for help with any SMS-related question.

D. Opting out

You can opt out of SMS communications at any time by:

  • Replying STOP, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, or QUIT to any SMS message from KeetonHosting.
  • Calling (480) 624-2500 and requesting removal from SMS communications.
  • Using the SMS preference controls in your account or by writing to us via the Contact page.

After you opt out, we will send one confirmation message and stop sending further SMS messages unless you opt back in. Opting out of promotional SMS will not affect essential transactional or security notices required to operate your account.

E. Message frequency and costs

  • Transactional messages (e.g., account confirmations, security alerts, provisioning updates, renewal reminders) are sent as needed.
  • Promotional messages (e.g., discounts, offers) are sent only with separate consent; typical frequency is up to a few messages per month.
  • Standard message and data rates may apply through your mobile carrier. KeetonHosting is not responsible for carrier fees.
  • Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

F. Program disclosure

This Privacy Policy, together with any specific consent language presented at the point of opt-in, describes the KeetonHosting SMS program. Continued participation constitutes your ongoing consent to these terms.

4. How we share your information

We share personal information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers and subcontractors: registrars, upstream hosting and infrastructure partners, payment processors, SMS/email delivery providers, fraud-prevention vendors, and analytics providers — each bound by confidentiality and permitted-use obligations.
  • Legal compliance: when required by law, subpoena, court order, or other legal process, or to protect our rights, property, or the safety of our customers or the public.
  • Business transfers: in the event of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, in which case reasonable notice will be provided where required by law.
  • With your consent: when you direct us to share information (for example, with a domain registrant or third-party integration).

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share mobile opt-in data or SMS consent with third parties for marketing.

5. Data security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These include encrypted transport (TLS), hashed passwords, access controls, network segmentation, and monitoring. No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data-transfer commitment. We commit not to transfer your personal data to external organizations without your consent, except as necessary to provide the Services or as required by law.

6. Data retention

We retain account and transactional information for as long as your Services are active and for a reasonable period thereafter to satisfy legal, tax, accounting, and abuse-response obligations. SMS consent records are retained for at least the period required by applicable telecommunications regulations. You may request deletion of personal data as described below, subject to those legal retention requirements.

7. Your data-protection rights

Depending on your location and applicable law (including the GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and other U.S. state privacy laws), you may have the right to:

  • Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: request that inaccurate or incomplete personal data be corrected.
  • Deletion: request that we delete your personal data, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Portability: request an electronic copy of certain data in a portable format.
  • Restriction and objection: request that we restrict or stop certain processing, including direct marketing.
  • Opt out of marketing: at any time, including SMS (via STOP) and email (via unsubscribe).
  • Non-discrimination: you will not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising these rights.

To exercise any of these rights, call us at (480) 624-2500 or submit a request through the Contact page. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

8. Children’s privacy

Our Services are not directed to individuals under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly. Contact us if you believe a child has provided us with personal information.

9. International users

The Services are operated from the United States. If you access the Services from outside the U.S., you understand that your information will be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the U.S. and other jurisdictions where our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

10. Third-party links and services

The Site may link to third-party websites and services (for example, our upstream reseller storefront at shop.keetonhosting.com). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties; please review their own privacy policies.

11. Updates to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page and the “Last updated” date at the top will be revised. Material changes to the SMS program will be communicated in advance where required. Continued use of the Services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
